OK people! Here's a question:
You have a wireless IP Pan/Zoom internet capable camera. It comes with a wireless router. Coaxial cable is also hooked up to give a direct video connection.
The issue:
I DONOT want the camera to be discoverable OR be wireless capable.
Is there a way to Block the wireless signal, yet keep the hard-wired coaxial connection?

You'd have to go into the device's settings and (hopefully) disabling the wireless will be an option. If not, check with the manufacturer for any firmware updates for the cameras.
Not discoverable is very difficult. 2 problems.
If the signal is locked it will show when someone searches for networks in range they just won't be able to get to it. They will know something is there but won't know it is a camera as long as you don't name it with camera.
The computer it is attached will also be a problem if anyone other than you has access to it.
I have a x-10 with wireless and cable, if I don't put batteries in the transmitter it will only work by cable.

It's a Camera that someone from North wanted. We approved it not realizing that He would put this type in. I suspect(others too) that he has it connected to a wireless internet (RR?) connection? Though They(N) insist it's not? BTW, don't have the WEP key to get into it either?
John's thought about batteries I don't think is an option? As the unit is plugged in? Too bad! Would be a simple fix!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a reset button. Didn't have access to the software either? So, a careful examination revealed that wireless function was independant of the hard wired circuit. So, a simple "Unplug" worked nicely!
Interesting sidepoint though? There is a wired network in the building. NOWIRELESS! Yet when searching for the 1 I was ck'g on it had ID'd itself as the existing wired network??? Strange!

That makes me wonder if there's a wireless to wired bridge somewhere you haven't found yet. Perhaps a pc suddenly has a new wireless network card. Or, an access point has been added somewhere in the wired network.

They would've had too?? Somewhere?? But I ck'd and it's not broadcasting now!! Also, when I went there yesterday (After the 1st) the cam was still
Flashing. So, no one reconnected it. Hopefully, there is no ill intent(I hope). We'll see??
