With xp you can't see more than 3 gb of memory, correct??
3.24 or something - but yes
Is this for the 'work' PC? If so then any reason you don't want to use Windows 7 RC? Apart from one day in a year or so having to do something to migrate your data. That 7400 and 4 gig was really very speedy running 64 bit Win 7 - faster than any normal business laptop that's for sure.
EDIT: Oh never mind - I'm tired - been playing with computers all day. You said i7 at the start - ignore me

hahahaha
too bad.
on 7 you can change the entire thing so long as you dont go from amd to intel.... on vista you can change a few.... and it will work on xp your screwed if you change a thing... and if it does work it will be dog slow.

Your def not going to be able to swap out mobo in XP without BSOD, been there done that. Going to have to be a fresh install of XP for it to work and if thats the case you might as well install win7 so much better than xp and vista and its only a RC which is nice. Anyone else notice the MS keeps making OS's that make it look like your using a MAC, too bad they still don't operate like it. Vista could have been the biggest mistake MS ever made. XP would have been good for a few more years until win7 came out. So is the offical name going to be win7?
