What is your actual upload speed?

I have AT&T's DSL service maxed out at 8mbps down, 768 kbps up, IIRC. (come on, uVerse)

When uploading, I'm getting around 50-80 KBps

Does anybody else have a real-world residential upload speed for me to compare?

Yeah, I don't always trust Speedtest to be a real-world test. It says I should get 80 KBps, but I often don't.

Well, when we had 8/1, or 24/1, the max I could upload was ~100kB/s (byte)

The thing is, operators sell their speeds with bits in them, so with a 8 meg downline, the theoretical max for your downloads is ~1MB/s

what I think Jebo is asking for is not a speedtest result, but to open a ftp program and try uploading a file to a host.

I have 3mb dsl, and when I upload to my host domain or another site that I manage.. I can usually get about 60-80kb/s up.. as read by filezilla during the upload.

I see speeds of 300k upload pretty regularly.
