PSU 1000w question: Can I get two 6pin PCIe connectors from an 8pin cable connector?

Hi guys!
I have this weird question :crying:

As you can see I have a 1000w PSU and my cables are like this:

Built In:
2 6pin PCI express cables
2 4 molex connectors
2 4 SATA connectors

Modular:
two 6pin PCI express connectors
two 8pin PCI express connectors

So I was wondering, can I "split/convert/get" from one of the 8pin connector cable and get two 6pin PCI express connectors?

I don't think it will supply the amps needed if you do that. Since each one will have a certain amperage per rail you would be cutting it in half.

I do understand about amps and watts... Still the thing that concerns me is not the amps but the watts

8pin = 300w
6pin = 150w

Am I correct?

How about using two of these adaptors to convert one 8 pin into one 6 pin

Or, another adaptor to convert molex into 6 pin pcie

still, I think I got solve my problem, because my actual PSU only HAS four 6pin connectors and from the 2 rails of MOLEX 4X1, I got the other two 6pin connectors.

I needed it! btw I already connect my 3rd GTX 285 (nothing else is connected in those but only the card)

The only thing I am worried is about the AMP in those molex rails that's why I came up with this question. TY ALL!

supposedly... 6 pins carry 2.2amps on each of the 3 12v pins...
8pin carries 4amps on the 3 12v pins... yes it still has just 3 pins for 12v just 2 extra grounds...
