4Ghz, thats it. lol I've never broke the 3.5Ghz mark stable. I'm hoping I'll be able to with the q9450 from john. Fingers crossed. Might have to setup WC. I have a buddy that works at a machine shop and can prob make water blocks. I need to take one of each to him and see what he can create. It would be cool to get waterblocks at cost of metal + 12-pack beer or a bottle of wine.

you won't need watercooling to hit 4ghz with a q9450

You'll just need a really good mobo that can hit 500mhz FSB with a quad core CPU

You think I can get it up there with this p35-ds3p? I'll prob need to bump up another 50-100w on psu since I will be adding 2x4850's soon enough.

i got this e6700 up to 475 with stock cooling, but wasn't stable. I will et better ram and cooling along with psu and vid cards don't want to spend more than $400 total and I really like this mobo. I think I could pull it off. The north and south bridges didn't even get warm at those speeds, just spu running in the 70'sC, which as intel states 62C is max e6700 should be at. I stopped folding until I was supposed to get that 9800GT and aftermarket HS&F from truck, but it looks like I;m gonna have to buy a new one. I liked the masscool 8WA741 I had on the e6550 kept it in low 40C's while folding. I might pick up another one of those and lap the cpu and HS&F. I 'm really just shooting for 3.6-3.75Ghz.

475 is good. Hopefully it was your CPU limiting you (there's a good chance it was)

However, quads usually don't clock as high on the FSB scale as duals do.....quads are harder on the mobo.
