Wow, I'm actually reinstalling my WHS tonight, the timing on your post is ironic.

w7 support exactly. Plus tight integration with Media Center.
It dropped today as well. So the entire WHS universe is crashing upon us.
Ya, I did my homework before updating and I was seeing a lot of chatter about pp3. w7 support is a foregone conclusion but I've lost all my interest in MCE since I got DirectTV. And then, of course, a month later MS gets Cablelabs to play nice. Why couldn't they have done that before I signed a 2 year contract. lol.
Anyway, I like my Dish and I still use the HTPC for blueray and other stuff. This cable card system has been a complete disaster.
Actually, there's enough legit and semi-legit ways to get cable card tuners installed without having to buy a full cable card system. Apparently quite a few manufacturers like, oh say Asus released motherboards with ocur equipped BIOSes. So, some very, very basic hardware hacks OR just running a software utility after booting Windows allows a fully functional install. This all developed in the last 6 months and I have to think thats partially why Cable labs gave up. Once it was out in the wild they lost all control. Check the Green Button for more details. I haven't been following it that closely but the game has really changed in the last few months.
