Well, He bought the upgrade. Install went well for awhile. Then it started slowing down. Then diff. colored bars appeared. Now it won't even boot?
I told him about the Control-F11 at the Dell screen. But to no avail? Anyone got any ideas?

Oh, it's a Dell desktop. Dual Core, 4 G mem. Upgraded from Vista w/SP2

What's interesting is several of the reports of "Upgrades" have cited the truckload of issues when you upgrade rather than do a "Clean" install. When asked about this, MS was silent! Think they know something we don't?
BTW, LOVED Patriot's post on using that hack on the upgrade vers.!

    lol
well I have done the double install...you install the os without a key then upgrade it...bah...takes too long there has to be a better way... and there is...not very tedious either... well unless your not comfortable in your registry... but changing one value from 1 to 0... cmon a great into into reg hacks...

I had already played with the rearm thing to give you another 30 days of trial.... (there is actually 120 days of time before activation built into windows installs that way for mass deployments they only make a iso every 120 days...)
    I'm level error 404

It IS simple! An easy hack. Anyone should feel relatively confident to do that. Well, there IS this one guy. He could screw up his machine just by turning it on!
