Default Need adapter for 2.5" HDD found in a Dell inspiron

This is the litle adapter that slides over the pins. Why they didn't just make them standard IDE connections I don't know? I have an old laptop HDD that I want to wipe and put in an enclosure. The drive is a Hitachi Travelstar. This is the adapter that's required to mate this to IDE.

I have one... simple adapter... the reasoning... there is not enough space on a 2.5 for the normal adapter AND power...

Well, that will do as a last resort. Thanks. I'm gonna look around for a simpler fix. But it's good to know thats out there. I'm not real sure it would work on an enclosure though? At leaast as it is.

Well, I found the basic unit that will allow the 2.5 connection on my kingwin adapter. So, I'm in business at least to wipe it. Then I can get another enclosure. So, once again all is well in OCW land:-)
