Thread: Forceware 196.75 bricking video cards

    wow that's scary.

    I often update my GPU drivers because ATI and Nvidia are constantly optimizing the drivers for the newest games. This is especially important with SLI or Crossfire, where driver optimizations can make a difference of 100%.

    So, for somebody who has multi gpu rigs, and buys new games when they come out, I definitely update my drivers regularly.

    holy moly 255c how much voltage was it getting, what on earth did nvida do to those drivers?
    jebo that is right still i would wait at least 4 days before driverupdayte
    920 d0 at 4.2 gz ram at 1.6ghz, 4890 at 950/1150

    I don't know if it was right but that is what it read on evga precision wish I had got a screen shot but all I could think of was holy sh-t stop LOL it has been folding nice since then so no damage done (fingers crossed)

    I somehow doubt it was running at 500 degrees F....

    i had a simular sit. with my 2900xt... just with it it was a coolig par which fell of my mobo (not part) landed on my gpu and got RED-hot literally several hundred degrees... my only thaught was fffffffffuuuuuuuuuu***************kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! turn it off turne it off turne it off
