    Oh snap

We took a quick look at the NVIDIA Community Forums this morning and it appears that consumers are having problems with the Foreceware 196.75 WHQL video card drivers that just came out on Tuesday. It appears that cards are overheating for some reason and you can find a number of threads on this issue like here, here and a ton here in the Official NVIDIA Forceware 196.75 display driver feedback thread. As a result of this feedback it would appear that NVIDIA has removed the drivers as the latest WHQL driver on the site is now 196.21. This might be a good thing as check out what NVIDIA Forum member BuddaBelly posted up.

Why do so many people constantly update there drivers the min a new one comes out over the last year I have read about many driver issues breaking cards and what have you. One of the first things I learned on this forum was if it ain't broke don't fix it, it has worked well for me so far the only time I updated drivers was when I moved to windows 7 and then only because I had to and I used a driver that had been out for awhile so the bugs where fixed. There should be a way that we can inform the update driver crazy people about the reason to stick with what works LOL

People should first read the release notes to see if anything in the new drivers actually effects their card or games. And then wait a few days while the braver bunch performs the final "beta" test on them for situations like this.

Heck, I'm still running 186.18, nothing else beats 'em as far as my rig's needs go.
