From what i've seen from various websites the ASUS cooler seems to be able to stand its ground. We'll see how it goes...I did get on some website though that said the ASUS p5n e SLI mobo i'm running ain't that good at oc'ing. At memory speeds of 400 - 500mhz, the mobo is inoperable. I can't even get it past 375mhz, it doesn't even pass post if i go above that. The oc I achieved on my e6420 2.13ghz (up to 3.1ghz) runs very stably at temps in the 30's with the stock cooler, which seems to suggest i can still do much more, it's the mobo that's holding me back
Get a load of this, my mobo crashed yesterday. It's dead!!! I think when i was changing heatsinks and vga cooler some static or something caused it to fail. Now i have to take it back to the supplier to have it replaced...who knows how that will take:cursing:. I'll be out of commision for a while but will keep tuning into the wiki.
ouch
keep us updated
Frying a motherboard sucks. I have only ever done it once and thankfully it was just on a cheap intel 775 board that was being used to overclock an PD-805. Thankfully Fry's just took it back...gotta love em.
