Stubs are very short articles on the Wiki. They are not quite short enough to be called placeholders but they not the length of full articles either. These articles fill a useful purpose in showing the direction that the wiki should grow, provide some useful information on their subject (this is a major difference between placeholders), provide the framework for the future article.
