So, a little while back you may rememberthat Woot.com had a deal on a bluetooth headset for $20 +$5 shippingwith a $20 mail in rebate. Seeing this as an opportunity to finally grasp some bluetooth techno goodness for myself and do so on the super cheap. My only regret, as you will see from my review is that I didn't buy more of these things.

Ok, so as most of you know (or may not know) Google recently released their new internet browser called Chrome. Right now, it's only in version 0.2.149.29...so it's not exactly an official release, more of an official preview release. However, it's probably one of the most functional preview releases of a program I have ever used. I have been using it now for about a week and testing it thoroughly in the process to see if it would be a worthy replacement, or at least competitor to the likes of IE8 and Firefox 3. I've compiled a comprehensive, but not too long, list of thing I like and dislike about this browser... |

Here's a quick post with some results I'm seeing and get
comments on your results. For reference, I've got a 8600 GTS installed
in a Athlon x2 based system running Vista 32b. (thanks John ) Driver version is 177.35 with the modd'd inf .
This system is worth about 1,900 ppd running the GPU2 client (6.12 beta 8) only and
is used for gaming. I wanted to gauge the impact of F@H on the GPU
while gaming so I tested using 3dMark06 while folding and without
folding. Here's the results:
While Folding: 3,334 3dMark06 score
Without Folding: 5,630
Results from ORB indicate normal scores are 5,400 for this setup so you
can see a 2,100 point drop from ORB and a specific drop of 2,300 while
folding on this system. Ouch.
So, based on this particular system it certainly would be a good idea
to pause the GPU2 client before doing any gaming. Are you seeing
anything different in your testing?
Also, should we be looking to see client improvements that detect
gaming and automatically pause folding until its over? Or, am I missing
something. Hit up the comments link and post your thoughts.

Intel said that it was able to fine tune its DRAM design and hit a
physical clock of 2 GHz using a 65 nm manufacturing process. The
resulting 2T-DRAM offers a stunning bandwidth of 128 GB/s. If Intel is
successful to take the clock speed up to the level of its QX9770/9775
processors, the bandwidth would climb to 204.8 GB/s.

Microsoft has been dealing with a very severe data corruption bug in its Windows Home Server product for a while now and were struggling intially with the fix for it. Well, thats all sorted out now and a beta for Power Pack 1 for Windows Home Server is becoming available starting in June. I know I'll be looking forward to this one.
Dear Dekard,
The Windows Home Server team is pleased to announce details of the public
beta of Windows Home Server Power Pack 1. This public beta will include the fix
for the data corruption bug described in Knowledge Base article #946676 as well
as a host of other bug fixes and new capabilities. The Power Pack 1 download is
planned to be available in early June and Beta participants are encouraged to sign
up and begin preparing now.
Due to the nature of the shared folder data corruption bug (KB #946676) a
broad beta test program with sufficient time for feedback is required. The
timeline for a final release will depend on this feedback and testing, in order
to deliver a fix of the highest quality. To meet our goals for the beta test we
need the number of beta testers who are actively using and testing the Power
Pack 1 beta to ramp up very quickly. Therefore we are asking beta testers to
begin preparing in advance.
