Microsoft's venerable operating system is still much beloved by the tech community and consumers at large. However, XP is getting a bit old now at 7 years since its initial public release. In an effort to fill some security holes, Microsoft will be releasing service pack 3 on April 21 to MSDN and Technet. Those of you without a subscription (or bittorrent) will have to wait until April 29th to pick up your copy of the patch. The final deployment of sp3 will be through the automatic update system on June 10th.
